West Wind Yoga
West Wind Yoga is a place for yoga practitioners and teachers who want to keep learning.
Many of our students already have a relationship with practice and are looking for something beyond regular studio classes.
Founded and directed by Lara Alexiou, we provide opportunities for deeper study, meaningful conversation, and new perspectives through seasonal immersions, workshops, retreats, teacher trainings, and mentorship.
At West Wind Yoga your practice can continue to evolve with you.
A place to continue what you have already begun.
After many years of teaching daily classes as the founder of Steamtown Hot Yoga, the call emerged to create a different type of yoga space, one devoted to depth rather than frequency. West Wind Yoga is a depth-based yoga school designed to support ongoing learning and deeper integration.
We take a more intimate look into yoga philosophy, posture, qigong, meditation, teaching methodology, and Taoist Five Element wisdom. Our work is rooted in lineage and tradition, yet evolved for the modern practitioner and visionary yoga teacher to invite insight onto the mat and into everyday life.
When practice feels familiar, but not finished
Many people find West Wind Yoga when their practice no longer feels new, but doesn’t feel complete either.
Students come to us to advance their yoga practice in different ways, including:

West Wind yogis want more depth, but may not want a 200 hour yoga teacher training program. Others have already completed 200 hour yoga teacher trainings and are seeking that next step of growth and integration. Here, yogis of all experience levels can more fully explore and integrate topics only touched upon during a teacher training.
West Wind Yoga was created for all of these reasons and more.
